Destination: Misibis Bay (Part 1)

Early last month, an aunt of mine arranged a trip for us to Misibis Bay. She's a seasoned traveler that even well known travel agencies call her up just to ask details about any country around the world. Anyway, Auntie Ellen did all the arrangements in this mini trip. All we had to do was send the check and show up in the airport. It was extremely relaxing and nice.

I believe she got the deal from Deal Grocer. The package includes 3 days and 2 night stay at a 1 Bedroom Premier Suite with outdoor Jacuzzi inside Misibis Bay. Free round-trip airport transfer to / from Legazpi City and the resort. Daily breakfast and dinner for 4. City tour upon arrival. Free use of non-motorized sports equipment. The whole package costs about 40k more or less. Airfare was about 5k per person from Cebu Pacific.

Here is my photo diary of the entire trip.

We left Manila around 7:50 am and reached Legazpi at 9ish.

A representative of Misibis Bay was waiting for all its clients at the parking area.

We opt to get a city tour before going to Misibis because once you are inside the resort, you cannot go out anymore. 1 hour is the travel time between Misibis Bay and the city of Legazpi. Anyway this is Kit or Kurt? He was our helpful tour guide.

First stop was Lignon Hill. You can clearly see the entire Mayon Volcano here.

Souvenir shop inside Lignon Hill area. They are selling pretty woven straw bags and other food pasalubongs.

Second stop was the Cagsawa Ruins. So basically that stone tower is just about it. There are photographers in the area who will take your photos with camera tricks. Just give them your camera and tip them after. We gave our photographer P100 tip. If you are generous, feel free to give more.

My baby sister bought herself a straw hat for P250. When Kit or Kurt heard about the price, he said the price was too expensive. A hat should costs about P150.

Third stop was the Daraga Church. You know what they say about going inside a church you haven't been before, one should make a wish!

Fourth stop was the Albay Pili Nut Store. We didn't get any pili nuts from the other souvenir shops because our aunt said this store sells the best ones.

Our favorite is the Albay Roasted Coated Sesame Pili Nuts. We got a box of that to be given to family and friends.

For lunch, one of our city tour mates suggested Balay Cena Una. The auntie said people recommended this restaurant to her because it serves delicious local food.

Before proceeding to Misibis Bay, another tour mate of ours asked if we could drop by Legazpi Grand Central Terminal because someone told her you can buy pasalubongs here the cheapest.

I bought an orange straw hat here for P300 because I was really eager to have one as well and upon going to the next booth, I saw the same straw hat I bought from the other store and it was being sold for P150. (@_@)

Our final stop was the Gaisano Mall. Since we brought baon like water and chips, we didn't bother getting anything from the supermarket. The aunties with us on the other hand did not bring anything so they got drinks and some snacks.

Upon arrival, that guy in costume danced a little and these girls gave us cute fishy necklaces.

We were also given welcome drinks and cold towels.

Because I was too eager to get one and I didn't try the hat anymore because I was wearing by big flower on my hair, turned out the hat didn't fit by HUGE head. I'm really malas!

Upon checking in, we requested for an Eco Park Tour the next morning and booked some outdoor activities we wanted to do.
